Enjoying Orange County

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012

Much of Orange County’s 798-sq mile (2,050-sq km) area is covered with sprawling urban communities linked by ever-busy freeways. Anaheim, home of Disneyland, is its second largest city, after Santa Ana.

Newport Beach is a huge attraction for it’s gnarly surfing, bustling boardwalks and expansive beachfront. Walking along the sand, you will find people surfing, riding beach cruisers, playing sand volleyball, having picnics and sunbathing. It is the popular getaway from the busy city of L.A. where people can relax and enjoy the beauty of the ocean.

More inland, people enjoy the bounteous zoos, parks, and golf courses that dot the county from San Clemente to Fullerton. It is common to enjoy hobbies like hiking, biking, and golfing. One popular trend is to get custom fitted golf clubs at places like Orange County Golf Club Fitting for a more professional and enjoyable experience.

Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm both call the O.C. home, and between those and the huge amount of museums, it is no wonder families from all over come to be entertained.

Shopping is also always at a premium with the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa being the largest mall in the entire State of California and America’s third largest. You won’t want to miss Fashion Island Mall in Newport Beach that overlooks the ocean and offers distinctive shopping and dining in a coastal resort setting. Budget conscience? Check out The Outlets in the city of Orange.

If you’re interested in boating whether by motor, sail, or rowing out on your kayak or canoe, Newport Beach awaits your arrival. Newport Harbor is where you may dock and Newport Bay is where you may float. The bay is divided by the Pacific Coast Highway Bridge.
